1. Inlay/Onlay

Inlay
basically means an indirect intra-coronal restoration;
a dental restoration with the use of a strong
and sturdy material made outside of the mouth
to replace a part of a tooth, including one or
more points of cusps of the tooth. The composite
material used can be either metallic (for example,
gold), or porcelain/ceramic (which are in the
natural color of the tooth). Once the material
is constructed to conform to the exact gaps or
cusps, it is cemented on to the affected tooth
Onlay is an indirect restoration made outside
the oral cavity that overlay a cusp or cusps of
the tooth, which is then bonded to the tooth.
Here, again metal or ceramic/porcelain composites
are used to replace part of a tooth, including
one or more points or cusps of the tooth, and
is cemented or bonded once it is constructed.
Our Inlay/Onlay procedure is advised in conditions
where the cavity size of a particular tooth
is too large for a normal restoration; metal
of choice being gold.
2. Crown

A
crown is the preferred medium for repairing
and restoring a decayed, damaged, or discolored
tooth. It is built by strong and long-lasting
materials like gold or porcelain. There are
various types of crowns available for different
debilitated tooth conditions. For example, while
artificial crowns are used for covering or replacing
a major portion of or the entire clinical crown
of a tooth, abutment crowns help in the retention
and support of a dental prosthesis.
Crowns are advised in conditions where strength
of the tooth is compromised as in cases of severe
attrition, fracture of teeth, extra large restorations,
and root canal-treated teeth. This procedure
is also advised for aesthetic reasons, for example,
in case of discolorations.

3. Bridge

A
bridge is an array of prosthetic or false teeth
that are fixed in the gaps between two natural
teeth. There are two kinds of bridges - removable
partial denture (removable bridge), which is a
prosthetic replacement of one or more missing
teeth that can be removed by the user; or fixed
bridges that essentially serve as replacements
for teeth lost in accidents for example.
We advise the use of bridges in case of missing
teeth - in both anterior and posterior regions
of the missing teeth which can be used as support.
4. Laminate/Veneer

A
laminate or veneer is made up of materials like
composite porcelain, ceramic or acrylic resin
and are used for restoring the whiteness and
sparkle of teeth. Use of a laminate or veneer
is usually advised in anterior teeth for aesthetic
reasons - for example, in cases of tooth discolorations
due to medicines as in tetracycline staining
or in case of florosis or hypocalcifications.
