1. Space Maintainer

Space Maintainer is a gadget used in
cases where there is an early loss of milk tooth
and permanent tooth is yet to come. It is very
common in such cases wherein the teeth next to
the gap tend to grow inwards thereby impeding
the growth of the new tooth. This gadget helps
maintains the space and at the same time also
acts as a guide to allow the permanent tooth to
erupt in its proper place. |
2. Habit Breaking Appliance

It
is very common for children between the ages of
2 and 4 to indulge in habits like thumb-sucking,
finger-sucking, tongue-sucking, lip-biting and
nail-biting. More often than not, children tend
to stop such activities by the age of 4. However,
in case a child continues to do so after his 4th
birthday, it might be time for you to worry. These
habits can cause serious damage to the child's
mouth, oral cavities, teeth and even the jaw structure,
and over time, can impact aspects such as speech,
facial expressions and chewing. MMR Clinic offers
various habit-breaking appliances like cribs and
braces to effectively eradicate these habits.
3. Fluoride
Application

Fluoride is a chemical compound used
to prevent dental decay. It can be used in fluoridated
water systems and/or applied directly to the teeth.
Fluoride application is advised for children with
a high caries index, before orthodontic treatment.
4. Sealants

Sealants are essentially plastic resin
placed on the biting surfaces of molar teeth to
prevent bacteria from attacking the enamel and
causing caries. This treatment is advised for
children with a high caries index and also in
cases where there are deep pits and fissures in
posterior teeth. |
