1. Flap Surgery

Flap
surgery is advised in case of periodontitis where
the infection is present below the gums. This
condition can be caused can be due to bad oral
hygiene or some systemic conditions like diabetes
or other hormonal changes. Flap surgery also includes
a procedure called Guided Tissue Regeneration
(GTR) wherein a membrane is inserted between the
alveolar bone and the bone graft to encourage
the gum tissues to grow onto the alveolar bone. |
2. Gingivectomy

Gingivectomy
is a procedure for the excision or removal of
gingival - a condition that results in soft tissues
overlying the crowns of unerrupted teeth and encircling
the necks of those that have erupted. The procedure
which is advised in case of gingival inflammation
can be caused due to bad oral hygiene or medicinal
induced (as in anti-epileptic therapy).
3. Curettage - Full Mouth

Full-mouth
curettage refers to the scraping or cleaning of
a cavity or gingival pocket. This procedure is
usually advised in cases where deposits are present
below the gum line. If not cleaned or removed,
there is the possibility of calcification or hardening
of the deposits resulting in the weakening of
teeth and eventual loss of the affected teeth.
4. Scaling - Full Mouth

Like
any other system in the body, over time our teeth
too begin to show signs of wear. This could be
due to various reasons including our basic oral
hygiene, and our food, drink or other debilitating
habits such as smoking or chewing of tobacco.
All these contribute to the development of plaque,
calculus, and stains on the teeth. Full-mouth
scaling is required in order to treat or remove
them. We advise professional cleaning of teeth
once every six months in all cases.
5. Bone Grafting
including Flap Surgery

Bone
grafting is advised along with flap surgery in
conditions where bone loss is present due to systemic
causes like in diabetes or due to traumatic bite.
